Program accomplishments

  • The Chamber Music Society of Greater Denver (CMSGD) advances public access to high-quality chamber music by presenting engaging performances that foster appreciation of the art form across Metro Denver. The organization emphasizes diverse and inclusive programming, featuring repertoire for small ensembles by both traditional and contemporary composers, and is committed to reaching audiences in accessible community-based venues. In the 2024-25 season, CMSGD transitioned to a fixed ensemble of five musicians, strengthening artistic cohesion while significantly expanding its programming capacity and performance reach. Through residencies at Wildcat Mountain Auditorium in Highlands Ranch, Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westminster, and Bethany Lutheran Church in Cherry Hills Village, CMSGD delivered two- to three-concert matinee and evening series that served broad and intergenerational audiences. The season introduced three new thematic programs-Classical Christmas, A Celebration of Celtic Culture, and The Forgotten Women of Classical Music-designed to deepen audience engagement, highlight underrepresented voices, and connect classical music to diverse cultural traditions.
    Expenses $14,023 · grants $8,917
  • In the 2024-25 season, Schulkind and CMSGD musicians expanded the organization's successful children's concert series by presenting four Story Hour performances across three counties, increasing access to high-quality arts experiences for children and families. These interactive programs were designed to engage young audiences and caregivers alike, using music, storytelling, and participation to introduce foundational musical concepts. The two new programs were developed around beloved children's classics-Carnival of the Animals and Peter and the Wolf-leveraging familiar narratives to foster early arts literacy, encourage family participation, and cultivate lasting appreciation for live chamber music among young audiences.
    Expenses $1,490 · grants $1,500
