Mission

We provide educational opportunities for student researchers that raise awareness around the access and affordability crisis for medicines developed with public funds. Our aim is to provide opportunities for student researchers to learn from experts, speak to each other, and share their own research findings as well.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • UAEM worked to train student researchers at various events throughout the year. In particular, we hosted a conference at McGill University in March of 2025. This event brought together 85 student and faculty leaders from across the United States and Canada. The event cost $36,782 and we had revenue from two major sponsors and a major funder, as well as ticket sales, totaling: $31,500. This event let us gather many of our active chapters across North America, recap our work throught the previous academic year, and plan for the future. Additionally, we hosted an in-person retreat with 15 student leaders, 3 board members, and staff and a fundraiser in Washington, D.C. in September, which cost $8,814, with revenue from the fundraiser totaling: $2,595. This event helped us plan our student engagement and recruitment plans for the 2025-2026 academic year and introduce students to professionals in the research and access to medicines space.
    Expenses $303,596
