Program accomplishments

  • Lakeside Alliance ongoing mission is to promote mental, emotional, physical health of youth and young adults supporting the community by fostering togetherness and awareness of resources. We focus on at risk youth, young adults, and houseless individuals of the local community. Our services have focused on outreach in the low-income, at-risk, homeless communities and building rapport with community members and giving back by providing clothing donations, food donations, information on community resources. Community outreach is ongoing on a weekly basis and we service on average 200 people a month with weekly food pantry/distributions in local community parks with support from our local food bank. All community members are welcome. Our objective is to connect with community, support mental health awareness and wrap around services available. As the nonprofit grows, long term goal is to provide services in schools for youth/young adults, obtain funding for drop in centers, and transitional housings. In addition, we successfully completed two free basketball clinics for at risk youth ages 10-18 (4th through 12 graders). The first clinic had 80 participants, the second clinic held had significant growth with 175 participants. These two clinics promoted our mission of mental, emotional, physical health and bringing community together. We were able to connect with community parents/families and share knowledge and resources for children and families in a fun and healthy way. Lakeside Alliance has many long term goals and building from the bottom up with no grants and limited funding available this past year we have made a significant impact to our community members thus far with our dedicated board and volunteers giving back to community. We are currently in planning phase for annual holiday events in the park for Halloween and Christmas, providing the community with resource tables and fun. We plan to serve 100 plus people at these annual holiday events in the park.
