Mission

Sisters Against Domestic Violence, Inc. is organized for charitable purposes. Our mission is to assist survivors of domestic violence who are pursuing custody of their children.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • 2025 was a year of implementation. Sisters Against Domestic Violence, Inc. launched our Legal Support for Survivors program. We were able to assist our first three clients in our Legal Support for Survivors Program. We reached out to several North Carolina Domestic Violence Shelters and Agencies to establish community partnerships. We received client referrals from these agencies and shelters. Our community partners were happy and grateful that we were able to assist their clients. We awarded over $10,000 in grants on behalf of our clients in our Legal Support for Survivors Program, who are pursuing custody of their children. The grants were paid directly to their attorneys' law firms to pay the attorneys' fees associated with their North Carolina child custody cases against their abusers. We help our clients navigate the legal system as they fight for custody of their children.
    grants $10,100
  • We started our Support Groups for Survivors Program, and it is available to current and past clients from our Legal Support for Survivors Program. So far, one client has participated and has been benefiting from the monthly virtual support group. We provide emotional support and help survivors heal from the trauma of abuse.
