  • FOUNDED IN 2024, THE STABLE HOUSING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IS DEDICATED TO ADDRESSING THE CRITICAL NEED FOR SUPPORTIVE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING SOLUTIONS IN NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. OUR WORK IS FOCUSED ON TRANSFORMING LIVES AND COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE PROVISION OF SUPPORTIVE HOUSING THAT CATERS TO THE UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS, ENSURING THEY HAVE ACCESS TO A SUPPORTIVE AND DIGNIFIED LIVING ENVIRONMENT. DURING 2025, SHIP ADVANCED ITS PLANS TO ADDRESS HOUSING INSTABILITY IN NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA BY COMPLETING A COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND DEVELOPING A HOUSING FIRST PROGRAM MODEL. THE WORK ESTABLISHED A FRAMEWORK FOR PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING, PREVENTION AND DIVERSION SERVICES, STREET OUTREACH, AND INDIVIDUALIZED RESIDENT SUPPORT. SHIP ALSO SECURED SIGNIFICANT GRANT FUNDING, STRENGTHENED ITS GOVERNANCE AND FINANCIAL SYSTEMS, ENGAGED COMMUNITY PARTNERS, AND BEGAN IMPLEMENTATION PLANNING FOR FUTURE HOUSING PROGRAMS.
