To stimulate economic growth in emerging economies while providing invaluable business experience to young American entrepreneurs. Additionally, the corporation may engage in any activities that are reasonably related to or in furtherance of its stated charitable purposes, or in any other charitable activities.
Program accomplishments
- During the year, the organization carried out international economic development activities designed to stimulate commerce and expand employment opportunities in emerging economies while providing educational and professional development opportunities for young American entrepreneurs. The organization researched, compiled, and developed structured directories of manufacturers in emerging markets, including producers of raw aluminum, wrist watches, childrens board books, hardcover and softcover books, calendars, carry bags, O-rings, pipettes, and window and door hardware. These directories were developed as part of the organizations planned resources intended to be publicly accessible and designed to reduce information barriers, increase visibility for small and mid-sized manufacturers, and facilitate cross-border trade. In furtherance of these goals, the organization conducted on-site visits to manufacturing facilities in India to verify supplier information and to study manufacturing capabilities, production techniques, and regional manufacturing strengths. The organization used this research to lay the groundwork for future educational and analytical materials intended to improve transparency and help foreign purchasers form realistic expectations when considering sourcing from emerging economies. Additionally, the organization provided programmatic liaison and interpretation assistance during sourcing discussions as part of its mission-driven activities to reduce language and cultural barriers and prepare suppliers and buyers for commercial engagement.
