Mission

America today is the most age-diverse society in human history and one of the most age-segregated. A quarter of the population is under 20, a quarter over 60, and the rest in between, yet our daily lives are structured so generations rarely interact outside of family in a meaningful way. At CoGenerate, we believe intergenerational collaboration -- what we call cogeneration -- is an essential and effective strategy to forge bonds across differences, combat polarization and ageism, and bring all generations skills and talents to bear on our nation's most pressing problems. Our mission is to bring older and younger people together to solve problems, bridge divides, and co-create the future.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • We grow the pattern - by catalyzing social innovation. We support innovators bringing generations together for mutual benefit and social impact. Expenses $809,101 · grants $50,000
  • We show the pattern - to increase awareness of age segregation and lift up the benefits of age diversity. We work as a thought leader and catalyst to tell new stories about older and younger generations working together. We write books and essays, sponsor research, partner with media, speak out, and hold virtual and in-person events.
    Expenses $690,215
  • We accelerate the pattern - by building the field. We identify, elevate, diversify and connect leaders of all ages working to bring generations together and advance the strategy of cogeneration.
    Expenses $291,905
