  • Throughout the year our organization has witnessed a significant impact on the children families mentors and volunteers we support. Our Summer Camp program provided a transformative experience for 120 children with 67 boys and 53 girls many of whom carry the burdens of trauma poverty or premature adult responsibilities. During this week-long camp these children had the opportunity to simply enjoy being kids. Engaging in activities like swimming ziplining and sharing personal stories in their cabins they experienced moments of pure joy and healing. These experiences reassured each child that they are valued heard safe and an essential part of a supportive community.
    Expenses $104,421 · revenue $3,380
  • The THRIVE!-4-Kids mentoring program provided support and guidance to 97 children aged 7-15 throughout the school year fostering healing and growth. The program was extended to cater to the needs of youth aged 13 and above through the Emerging Leaders Academy tailored for students in grades 7th-8th. Through weekly small-group sessions children developed strong relationships with adult mentors delving into essential life topics like resilience character leadership and faith. In communities where consistent support is limited THRIVE! offers a sense of empowerment safety and inclusion. Witnessing children embrace their self-worth aspire to greater goals and confront challenges with increased confidence is a testament to the programs impact. This year THRIVE! expanded its reach to include two low-income housing complexes Monterey Pines and Cypress Pines providing mentorship directly in the neighborhoods where families reside. Additionally the online platform launched in 2021 continues to flourish via Zoom ensuring that children outside of Richmond also have a reliable and meaningful community to engage with.
