Mission

The Trinidad Civic Club is committed to supporting the community through various service initiatives. The Clubs primary focus is on the maintenance and preservation of the historic Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse which has significant maritime heritage value. Initially built in 1949 to house important aids to navigation such as a Fourth Order Fresnel Lens from 1871 and a two-ton bronze fog bell from 1898 the lighthouse holds great historical significance. Due to coastal erosion in 2018 the Memorial Lighthouse and its maritime aids were relocated to Trinidad Harbor with the assistance of the Cher-Ae Heights Indian Community of the Trinidad Rancheria the property owner. The Trinidad Civic Club is actively engaged in fundraising efforts to care for the Memorial Lighthouse Monument which serves as a beacon of the communitys history and resilience.
