Mission
EXCELLENCE IN THE ASSESSMENT, TREATMENT, AND PREVENTION OF CHILD ABUSE, NEGLECT, TRAUMA AND GRIEF IN ORDER TO PROMOTE HEALTH AND HOPE IN CHILDREN, YOUTH, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES.
Program accomplishments
- LIBERTY HOUSE IS THE ONLY CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER SERVING MARION AND POLK COUNTIES. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2025, LIBERTY HOUSE PROVIDED 805 MEDICAL EXAMS AND 618 FORENSIC INTERVIEWS FOR CHILDREN WITH CONCERNS OF ABUSE AND /OR NEGLECT. FURTHERMORE, LIBERTY HOUSE PERFORMED REVIEWS OF CASE FILES AND PHOTOGRAPHS OF 143 CHILDREN TAKEN PURSUANT TO KARLY'S LAW, AN OREGON STATUTE WHICH REQUIRES PHOTOGRAPHS TO BE TAKEN OF ANY CHILD WITH SUSPICIOUS INJURIES DISCOVERED DURING A CHILD ABUSE INVESTIGATION.LIBERTY HOUSE'S HOPE AND WELLNESS PROGRAM PROVIDED TRAUMA-INFORMED COUNSELING TO 83 CLIENTS. THE THERAPISTS PROVIDED A TOTAL OF 1,399 INDIVIDUAL THERAPY SESSIONS, 158 FAMILY THERAPY SESSIONS, AND 62 MENTAL HEALTH ASSESSMENTS. THE PROGRAM ALSO ADDED A NEW THERAPIST TO INCREASE OUR PROGRAM CAPACITY. LIBERTY HOUSE PROVIDED CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION EDUCATION TO 1,082 PEOPLE. ADDITIONALLY, LIBERTY HOUSE COMMISSIONED A PROFESSIONAL, ACADEMIC PROGRAM EVALUATION OF ITS MYWORTH CURRICULUM, WHICH OUR STAFF DEVELOPED IN RESPONSE TO STAKEHOLDER REQUESTS FOR WAYS TO EMPOWER SCHOOL-AGED STUDENTS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES ONLINE AND VIA THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT. A TEAM OF EXPERIENCED PHD SOCIAL RESEARCHERS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON CENTER FOR CHILDHOOD SAFETY & WELLBEING STUDIED THE CURRICULUM AND ITS DELIVERY AND DETERMINED IT WAS EFFECTIVE AND HAD FIDELITY TO ITS STATED GOALS.THE MOST NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT WAS THAT IN JANUARY 2025 LIBERTY HOUSE WAS NOTIFIED THAT WE HAD EARNED NATIONAL ACCREDITATION BY THE NATIONAL CHILDREN'S ALLIANCE (WWW.NATIONALCHILDRENSALLIANCE.ORG) THE PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION THAT OVERSEES OVER 960 CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTERS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. LIBERTY HOUSE WORKED FOR SEVERAL YEARS TO ATTAIN THE LEVEL OF EXCELLENCE NECESSARY FOR THIS DISTINCTION AND DURING THE SITE VISIT IN OCTOBER 2024, WE WERE TOLD THAT WE WERE IN THE TOP 1% OF CACS NATIONWIDE IN TERMS OF OUR PERFORMANCE. THIS WAS A MAJOR HIGHLIGHT.DURING THE FISCAL YEAR LIBERTY HOUSE SAW THE DEPARTURE OF SOME EMPLOYEES WHO LEFT FOR VARIOUS REASONS. LIBERTY HOUSE NOTICED A SLOWING OF CLINICAL REFERRALS DURING THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF THE FISCAL YEAR AND CONVENED A COMMITTEE OF BOARD, STAFF AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO ADDRESS THE TREND. REFERRALS PICKED UP NOTICEABLY DURING THE SECOND 6 MONTHS OF THE FISCAL YEAR AND HAVE REMAINED STRONG. LIBERTY HOUSE LEADERSHIP MADE STRATEGIC DECISIONS TO REDUCE ADMINISTRATIVE OVERHEAD COSTS BY NOT FILLING CERTAIN POSITIONS IN ORDER TO REDUCE LOSS AND MAXIMIZE FISCAL STABILITY. LIBERTY HOUSE CONTINUES TO BENEFIT FROM THE CONFIDENCE OF ITS PRIMARY PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORTERS. LONGEVITY IN SENIOR STAFF REMAINS STRONG.Expenses $4,967,972 · revenue $1,874,982
