Mission
The primary mission of West African Stroke Initiative Inc.(WASI) is to facilitate world-class comprehensive stroke care, including evidence-based culturally attuned care transitions in West Africa for stroke patients and their caregivers
Program accomplishments
- (1) WASI hosted five Grand Rounds on the following: New Frontiers in Acute Mechanical Thrombectomy, From the Brain to the Pelvis, Diagnostic Cerebral Angiography, ICU Management in Neurointervention, and Paediatric Neurointervention: VOGM (2) WASI presented at five national and international conferences: AfriHealth Conference and Exhibition in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria; Nigerian Academy of Neurological Surgeons, Enugu, Nigeria; Nigerian Stroke Leaders Summit, Lagos, Nigeria; African Stroke Organization Conference, Nairobi, Kenya; Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology Conference in Orlando Florida. (3) The WASI team completed three endovascular treatments, including a Pial AV fistula and a Caroticocarvernous fistula and provided practical hands-on opportunities for the WASI fellowsExpenses $29,692 · revenue $39,207
