Mission
Nobody Plans On Dying's primary exempt purpose is to educate youth, families, and the public on overdose awareness and substance use prevention through charitable and educational programs. The organization empowers individuals to make healthy, informed decisions by providing evidence-informed prevention education, mentorship, early intervention, community outreach, and referral to behavioral health, treatment, and recovery support services when appropriate. NPOD promotes healthy, drug-free lifestyles, strengthens protective factors, reduces stigma surrounding substance use disorders and recovery, and increases awareness of the risks associated with fentanyl and other substances. Through school-based education, community engagement, and collaborative partnerships, the organization works to prevent substance misuse and overdose while improving the health, safety, and well-being of the communities it serves.
Program accomplishments
- Nobody Plans On Dying advanced its charitable and educational mission by providing overdose awareness and youth substance use prevention education through community outreach, public awareness initiatives, and school engagement. During the year, the organization produced and released an educational documentary focused on the fentanyl epidemic, reaching approximately 3,770 community members through screenings, online distribution, and outreach efforts. NPOD developed evidence-informed prevention curriculum, educational materials, volunteer training, and organizational policies to support school-based programming and mentorship. The organization established partnerships with schools, behavioral health providers, and community organizations to strengthen prevention and referral pathways for youth and families. Volunteers also participated in outreach events to increase awareness of overdose prevention, promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles, and connect individuals with appropriate prevention, treatment, recovery, and support resources. These activities furthered the organization's exempt purpose of educating youth and the public to prevent substance misuse and overdose.
