Mission

EMPOWERING OLDER LGBTQ+ ADULTS IN THE TRIAD AND TRIANGLE REGIONS OF NORTH CAROLINA.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT: BEING INVOLVED IN A LARGER COMMUNITY AND TAKING PART IN PARTICIPATORY ACTIVITIES IS ESSENTIAL FOR PROMOTING HEALTHY AGING. FOSTERING POSITIVE CONNECTIONS CAN SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE SOCIAL ISOLATION, WHICH IS A KEY FACTOR IN LEADING A FULFILLING LIFE AND FEELING CONNECTED TO YOUR COMMUNITY.
    Expenses $11,343
  • EDUCATION: TO EFFECTIVELY CONNECT WITH OLDER LGBTQ+ ADULTS, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO CULTIVATE BOTH KNOWLEDGE AND EMPATHY. RECOGNIZING THEIR UNIQUE HISTORIES, INTERNALIZED TRAUMA, AND POTENTIAL DISCONNECTION FROM BIOLOGICAL FAMILIES IS CRUCIAL FOR FOSTERING MEANINGFUL ENGAGEMENT. MANY OLDER LGBTQ+ INDIVIDUALS OFTEN CREATE CHOSEN FAMILIES, WHICH HIGHLIGHTS THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS UNDERSTANDING IN OUR INTERACTIONS WITH THEM.
    Expenses $1,447
  • ADVOCACY: REMAINING ACTIVELY ENGAGED AND ENSURING OUR VOICES ARE HEARD IS VITAL AS WE AGE. BY CREATING SPACES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH, WE EMPOWER OLDER LGBTQ+ ADULTS TO BE AUTHENTIC AND AGE WITH DIGNITY. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT WE KNOW OUR VOICES ARE ACKNOWLEDGED AND INCLUDED IN THE PLANNING PROCESS. WE WILL NOT BE INVISIBLE.
    Expenses $1,021 · grants $822
