Mission
A collective effort to pray & serve the greater-LB area
Program accomplishments
- Long Beach Church Collective (LBCC) was established to serve the local churches and their leaders through collaborative networking and by providing tools to build a stronger, faith-based community. Efforts are focused on Long Beach, California and adjacent areas. In 2025:The Long Beach Church Collective (LBCC) continues its work to connect and resource Christian leaders in the greater Long Beach, California area. In 2025, this was accomplished in a number of ways to benefit church leaders for the good of our city. Here are some of the highlights: On an October Saturday, more than 750 people from twenty-plus churches gathered to worship and then went on to serve at more than forty projects across the city as part of "Love Our City. Leaders from seventeen local congregations gathered in Malibu for a Psalms Retreat, using Scripture as a prompt to express their deepest longings to the Lord. Twenty-five congregations worked together to give and transport more than $300,000 in needed new items (sheets, air mattresses, air purifiers, and more) and an additional $250,000 in cash to families affected by the Altadena Fire. LBCC served as the catalystmaking connections with a local congregation and helping establish a long-term partnership for rebuilding. Following a volatile situation involving federal officers and protesters in Paramount, a neighboring city, seven congregations sought to serve their city in a faithful, non-anxious way. We provided a facilitator, helping these churches develop a shared plan to care for their congregations and communities during a time of great stress. Forty leaders of color and their spouses attended retreats we hosted designed to honor their work, relationships, and unique leadership journeys. These gatherings were created and facilitated by local pastors and therapists of color. For the ninth year in a row, we hosted our annual holiday event with over 150 local church and non-profit community leaders enjoying tacos while making meaningful connections for a good break in the busy Christmas season. LBCC partnered with WellSpring to launch a pilot cohort for 16 local ministry leaders. The SoCal SoulCARE cohort spanned nine months, providing opportunities for connection and replenishment. The retreat-based, spiritual formation experience invited each leader to lean into and live out of their identity as beloved children of God, embracing rhythms and practices of grace while experiencing beauty and abundance. In addition, we launched a Leader Cohort, positioning ourselves to offer SoulCARE to a broader community of leaders in an intentional and sustainable manner for years to come. We also hosted prayer gatherings and learning sessions with informative guest speakers. Additionally, we continued to provide grants and counseling services to selected local church leaders. Reconcile Long Beach, an initiative launched late in 2024, unites churches and community partners to support vulnerable families at-risk or who are involved in the child welfare system. We educate, mobilize, connect, and collaborate with churches and community partners to create a network for the common good of our city, empowering families to thrive through holistic support and reconciliation. 2025 was a year of discovery and learning what is possible, listening closely to our community, and laying foundations that will make deeper impact in the years ahead. Following are some of the key accomplishments:- We educated the community and professionals in trauma-informed care. We trainedaround 150 social workers from two of our local Department of Child and FamilyServices (DCFS) offices. In addition, we trained around 50 community members.- We created and trained 6 mentors for transitional aged youth and will be piloting a support program in 2026 through a partnership with our local DCFS office.- We organized a resources fair, focused on helping faith leaders and volunteers understand the resources and organizations in the city of Long Beach. We had 32 organizations participating with 55 staff from those organizations represented and around 75 attendees at the event. It was another meaningful year for LBCC serving those who serve our city and kicking off a new program to meet the needs of children and families involved in or at-risk of being involved with the DCFS.Expenses $409,129
