Mission
ALPAR is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating litter and increasing econimically-viable recycling in Alaska through grants (statewide) and recycling shipping support (in railbelt communities).
Program accomplishments
- Youth Litter Patrols and Yellow Litter Bag Distribution - ALPAR's longest running program provides grants to communities to pay youth to pick up litter and recycle throughout the summer. Each year ALPAR distributes 300,000 free bright yellow litter bags to over 220 communities and groups throughout the state of Alaska.Expenses $205,349 · grants $90,987 · revenue $8,441
- Recycling, Glass, Christmas Tree, and Nursery Pot Recycling Programs: ALPAR promotes recycling awareness through public service advertising, social media outreach, posters and coloring books, and america recycles day programs.
