Program accomplishments

  • Advocacy Days At Texas Capitol - In 2025, ACT 4 SA Action Fund brought volunteers together to support important work at the Capitol in Austin, Texas. Our advocacy in Austin kicked off by supporting VOCAL TX on February 12 and 13. Together with organizations from across the state, we rallied to fight back against billionaires and build safe and thriving communities. We also met with lawmakers, sharing the importance of public health interventions like housing solutions and proven overdose prevention programs. The next month, we attended the All In For Equality Advocacy Day in Austin. We were joined by organizations and state residents from far and wide, all standing up proudly for the rights of queer Texans. ACT 4 SA Action Fund, alongside several community partners, kept tabs on many dangerous bills affecting things like the carceral system, cop transparency, and immigration. Thorouogh some advocacy days with coalition partners we were able to successfully beat several bad bills.
    Expenses $31,690
  • Leadership Development- Staff Retreats: ACT 4 SA Action Fund held two staff retreats this year- one in January and another in June. Together we set goals, bonded as a team, made some art, and sang our hearts out at karaoke. Our second retreat was held in June 2025. During this retreat, we realigned and re-strategized with a focus on the remainder of the year. A big thank you to BRIDGE Collective for facilitating our second day of training.
    Expenses $1,872
  • Local Municipal Elections - Gave money to ACT4SA Action PAC in support of independent expenditures in support of Jalen McKee-Rodriguez and Gina Ortiz Jones in the San Antonio municipal elections for 2025.
    Expenses $29,000
