Mission

GWA Global Girls With Attitude is a 501c3 nonprofit whose primary exempt purpose is youth development, specifically, empowering inner-city adolescent girls through literacy, the arts, and movement.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • With a $5,000 grant from Neighborhood Connections, GWA Global Girls With Attitude hosted our Girls Go Global summer camp, serving young women in East Cleveland, OH. Over one week, we engaged more than 15 young ladies in exploring countries and cultures from around the world. Each day blended literacy, the arts, and movement, the core pillars of GWA's mission, to broaden the girls' worldview and build their confidence. The week included a visit to Kent State University, where participants explored fashion and culture while gaining exposure to a college campus. The camp culminated in a capstone trip to New York City, where the girls experienced the arts firsthand and applied what they had learned. For many, it was their first time traveling outside of Ohio. Neighborhood Connections' support made this experience possible, from transportation and meals to program supplies and admissions. Because of this grant, 15 plus young women from East Cleveland gained access to enriching programming, new horizons, and a stronger belief in their potential as future leaders.
