Mission
MERCY ME SOBER LIVING IS DEDICATED TO OFFERING A SECURE, SOBER, AND STRUCTURED LIVING SPACE TAILORED FOR INDIVIDUALS ON THE PATH TO RECOVERY FROM ALCOHOL, DRUG, OR SUBSTANCE ABUSE ISSUES.
Program accomplishments
- MERCY ME SOBER LIVING (MMSL) MEN'S HOUSE CONTINUED TO PROVIDE A SAFE LIVING SPACE THAT SUPPORTS INCREASING OUR RESIDENTS "RECOVERY CAPITAL" THROUGHOUT 2024. MMSL DOES THIS BY PROVIDING A CONSISTENT PROGRAM OF RECOVERY SUPPORT, LIVING GUIDELINES AND SOBRIETY RULES. ALL SUPPORT, GUIDELINES AND RULES ARE ROOTED IN THE PRINCIPLES OF 12 STEP RECOVERY AND THE GUIDELINES PROVIDED BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF RECOVERY RESIDENCES (SCARR). MMSL RESIDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO: HAVE A SPONSOR, WORK A RECOVERY PROGRAM (DOCUMENTED THRU LOGS), ATTEND AT LEAST 5 MEETINGS A WEEK INCLUDING THE MANDATORY UPON AWAKENING MEETING HELD AT THE HOUSE EACH DAY AND THE ONCE PER WEEK HOUSE MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS. ADDITIONALLY RESIDENTS MUST HAVE FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT UNLESS THEY ARE LEGALLY DISABLED. ALL RESIDENTS MUST PARTICIPATE IN AT LEAST 8 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE WORK EACH MONTH. CONSISTENT WITH OTHER SCARR REQUIREMENTS, THE MEN ALSO PARTICIPATE IN THE OPERATION, CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE HOUSE. MMSL IS GRATEFUL TO SEVERAL LOCAL FOOD BANKS. THROUGH OUR PARTICIPATION IN THEIR PROGRAMS, WE ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE A GREAT MAJORITY OF THE PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS' DAILY NUTRITIONAL NEEDS AT NO COST TO THEM. WE ARE CURRENTLY EXCEEDING OUR TARGET AVERAGE OF 80% OCCUPANCY AND HAVE SEVERAL RESIDENTS WHO ARE CURRENTLY SOBER FOR FROM 90 DAYS UP TO SIX MONTHS AND TWO WITH 13 AND 16 MONTHS. WE ARE PLEASED WITH THESE RESULTS AND ARE ADDING TWO MORE DIRECTORS TO INCREASE SUPPORT AND INSIGHT INTO OUR DAY TO DAY OPERATION.
