Mission
RAISE VITAL FUNDING AND AWARENESS FOR THE PARADISE VALLEY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT.
Program accomplishments
- THE PARADISE VALLEY FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION (PVFA) RAISES VITAL FUNDING FOR THE PARADISE VALLEY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT (PVFD), 27 LOCAL VOLUNTEERS COMMITTED TO PROTECTING THE PEOPLE, HOMES, AND WILDLANDS OF OUR REGION. WE PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR PVFD EQUIPMENT, GEAR, AND FACILITIES. WE ALSO FUND ONGOING TRAINING AND SAFETY RESOURCES FOR OUR VOLUNTEER RESPONDERS AND ORGANIZE COMMUNITY EVENTS THAT CONNECT RESIDENTS WITH THEIR FIRE DEPARTMENT. PVFA BRIDGES THE FUNDING GAPS THROUGH COMMUNITY DONATIONS AND GRANTS TO HELP ENSURE THE FIREFIGHTERS ARE ALWAYS PREPARED. A FIREMAN'S BALL IS HELD ANNUALLY ON THE SATURDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING AT THE CHICO CONVENTION CENTER. THE BALL SERVES AS A MEET-AND-GREET FOR THE FIREFIGHTERS AND EMTS WITH MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY WHILE ALSO RAISING NOMINAL DONATIONS TO BE HELD IN RESERVE FOR INJURED FIREFIGHTERS AND EMTS. RECENTLY FUNDS HAVE BEEN USED TO ADD EQUIPMENT TO AN AMBULANCE THAT WAS AQUIRED WITH A GOVERNMENT GRANT. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN UPGRADES TO FIREFIGHTERS' TURNOUTS, "BUNKER GEAR," AS WELL AS ASSISTANCE IN THE PURCHASE OF SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS (SCBA), WHICH ENHANCE THE SAFETY OF THE VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS.Expenses $153,299
