Mission
THE EMPOWERMENT EFFECT IS A NON-PROFIT PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING YOUNG WOMEN AGED 7 TO 17, ENSURING EQUITABLE ACCESS ACROSS ALL COMMUNITIES IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA. OUR MISSION IS TO ESTABLISH A SAFE ENVIRONMENT WHERE GIRLS CAN FEEL EMPOWERED, FOSTERING THEIR GROWTH AND CONFIDENCE AS THEY TRANSITION INTO ENGAGED YOUNG ADULTS. GUIDED BY STRONG AND PASSIONATE WOMEN FROM THE LOCAL ICE HOCKEY COMMUNITY, OUR PRIMARY GOAL IS TO IMPART VALUABLE LIFE LESSONS THROUGH THE SPORT OF ICE HOCKEY, ULTIMATELY CONTRIBUTING TO CREATING A MORE POSITIVE AND EQUITABLE SOCIETY.
Program accomplishments
- THE EMPOWERMENT EFFECT DRAMATICALLY TRANSFORMED THE HOCKEY PROGRAM BY SUCCESSFULLY RECRUITING OVER 40 ENTHUSIASTIC GIRLS. WITH TWO MONTHLY PRACTICES AND BY IMPLEMENTING A VARIETY OF ENGAGING OFF-ICE EVENTS, THE EMPOWERMENT EFFECT FOSTERED A VIBRANT COMMUNITY THAT NOT ONLY STRENGTHENED THE TEAM BOND AND EMPOWERED THESE GIRLS WITH CONFIDENCE BUT ALSO IGNITED A GENUINE PASSION FOR THE SPORT. THIS INITIATIVE ELEVATED OUR PARTICIPATION RATES AND ALSO CULTIVATED A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT WHERE THESE YOUNG ATHLETES COULD LEARN LIFE LESSONS AND THRIVE BOTH ON AND OFF THE ICE!
- THE EMPOWERMENT EFFECT HOSTS AN ANNUAL ADULT HOCKEY TOURNAMENT AS A FUNDRAISER THAT IS ENTIRELY VOLUNTEER-RUN, FEATURING OVER 20 TEAMS AND 350-400 PLAYERS. WHILE PROMOTING EQUITABLE ACCESS, SAFE SPACES, AND FUN, 100 PERCENT OF THE PROCEEDS SUPPORT OUR MISSION.
