Mission
Yukon Kuskokwim Delta Tribal Broadband Consotrium (YKDTBC)'s missions aims to link tribes, Alaska state, and organizations to close the digital divide in the YKD region.
Program accomplishments
- The YKDTBC team completed the NEPA environmental assessment and received Categorical Exclusion approval. Field visits were started, where tribal village residents attended informational meetings and signed up for broadband installation. One-on-one home surveys were completed to assess installation needs, and procurement of Starlink units and materials was initiated.Expenses $2,504,199
- CPF - Engineering & Land UseIdentification of the best open land plots in each village most suitable for a tower construction (including land surveys), coordination and negotiation with village corporation land owners and the tribe, etc.
- CPF - Customer Mapping and DataRemote and onsite GPS and address mapping of all residences in each tribal village which would be used to prepare equipment lists, internet penetration from the tower, and installation prep.
