Program accomplishments
- OUR GOAL IS CHILDREN'S KINDERGARTEN AND READINESS (CKR) AND FUTURE SUCCESS. WE SEEK TO SUBSTANTIALLY INCREASE THESE FOR ALL CHILDREN AND ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE MOST IN NEED. DURING 2025, WE IMPROVED OUR WEBSITE AT STRONGFAM.ORG TO BETTER SERVE RESEARCHERS APPLYING FOR GRANTS AND, NEW THIS YEAR, TO BEGIN SUPPORTING THEM DURING THE CONDUCT OF THEIR RESEARCH PROJECTS. STRENGTHENING FUTURE FAMILIES CONTINUED TO ENGAGE WITH RESEARCHERS BOTH PROSPECTIVELY AND CONCURRENTLY WITH THEIR RESEARCH PROJECTS, TO HELP FACILITATE THEIR WORK. DURING THE YEAR, WE CAREFULLY REVIEWED AND CONTRACTUALLY COMMITTED TO ADDITIONAL PARENTING EDUCATION RESEARCH GRANTS TOTALING $280,000. WE ALSO MADE DISBURSEMENTS ON BOTH CURRENT AND PRIOR YEAR GRANTS TOTALING $239,163. THESE DISBURSEMENTS INCLUDED $49,994 TO FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY, $97,500 TO PARENTEACH INSTITUTE, AN IRS-APPROVED 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION, AND $91,669 TO HARVARD UNIVERSITY.THE PROCEDURES FOR MONITORING THE USE OF THE GRANTS BEGIN WITH EXTENSIVE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMITTING A GRANT REQUEST. THEY INCLUDE BACKGROUNDS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROJECT TEAM MEMBERS AND ESPECIALLY FOR PROJECT PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATORS. THEY ALSO INCLUDE DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT INCLUDING SUCH INFORMATION AS AN IN DEPTH DESCRIPTION OF IT; THE RESEARCHERS' THEORY OF CHANGE; AN EXPLANATION OF HOW THEIR EXPECTED RESEARCH OUTCOMES ALIGN WITH THAT THEORY OF CHANGE; PARTNERSHIP PLANS, IF ANY; AN IMPLEMENTATION PLAN; AND MUCH OTHER INFORMATION. ALSO REQUIRED ARE THREE FORMS: BUDGET, TASKS, AND DELIVERABLES. ON THE DELIVERABLES SCHEDULE ARE TYPICALLY AT LEAST THREE DISBURSEMENT AMOUNTS TO BE MADE FOR SPECIFIC DELIVERABLES OVER THE COURSE OF THE PROJECT. FINAL DISBURSEMENT AMOUNTS AND THE ASSOCIATED DELIVERABLES ARE AGREED TO AT THE TIME THE GRANT CONTRACT IS SIGNED. THEN, DURING THE CONDUCT OF THE PROJECT, NO DISBURSEMENT IS MADE UNTIL THE SPECIFIED DELIVERABLES UP TO THAT POINT HAVE BEEN RECEIVED AND ACCEPTED. THE FINAL DISBURSEMENT IS NOT MADE UNTIL RECEIPT OF THE FINAL REPORT AND, IDEALLY PUBLICATION OF IT, ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT GUARANTEED. WHERE THE RESEARCH IS TO BE CONDUCTED BY A LARGE, WELL KNOWN PUBLIC OR PRIVATE EDUCATION INSTITUTION, WHICH IS EXPECTED TO BE WELL IN EXCESS OF NINETY PERCENT OF THE TIME, OUR GRANT CONTRACTS ARE WITH THAT INSTITUTION AND ULTIMATELY THIS IS OUR GREATEST ASSURANCE OF SUCCESSFUL RESEARCH SINCE THESE INSTITUTIONS' PUBLIC IMAGES ARE EXCEEDINGLY IMPORTANT TO THEM.Expenses $389,173 · grants $239,163
