BY LEADING COORDINATED ACTION, MONTCO ANTI-HUNGER NETWORK STRENGTHENS THE FOOD SECURITY SAFETY NET SYSTEM IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA, WORKING TO END HUNGER IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY.
Program accomplishments
- IN 2024, MONTCO ANTI-HUNGER NETWORK (MAHN) DISTRIBUTED OVER 850,000 LBS. OF FOOD TO HUNGER RELIEF AGENCIES OVER AN 8% INCREASE OVER 2023. ADDITIONALLY, MAHN INCREASED FRESH PRODUCE PROVIDED BY 102% IN 2024. IN THE LAST CALENDAR YEAR, MAHN TESTED ITS INNOVATION PROTOTYPE PROGRAM FEATURING NINE PROTOTYPES (SCALABLE SOLUTIONS) UTILIZING HUMAN-CENTERED DESIGN. ADDITIONALLY, MAHN ADMINISTERED A $500,000 FOOD PURCHASING GRANT TO FOOD PANTRIES ON BEHALF OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY, AND HOSTED ADVOCACY ROUNDTABLE WITH CONGRESSWOMAN MADELINE DEAN AND CONGRESSMAN FITZPATRICK, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PHILABUNDANCE, AS A PART OF OUR NEWLY LAUNCHED ADVOCACY AND DATA PROGRAMMING. IN 2024 WE RECEIVED APPROVAL FOR A CORE COMMUNITY COUNCIL OF ALL PANTRIES IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY CO-HOSTED BY MONTGOMERY COUNTY FOOD POLICY COUNCIL AND MONTCO ANTI-HUNGER NETWORK, PROVIDING DIRECT INPUT INTO COUNTY FOOD POLICY AND THE MONTCO ANTI-HUNGER NETWORK BOARD. ANTI-HUNGER NETWORK CONTINUES TO GROW AS AN ORGANIZATION, GROWING FROM 63 EMERGENCY FOOD ORGANIZATIONS AT THE BEGINNING OF 2023 TO 73 AT THE END OF 2024.Expenses $613,979 · revenue $1,647
