Mission
THE GEORGETOWN NEUROSCIENCE FOUNDATION IS A GRASSROOTS 501(C)3 NONPROFIT DEDICATED TO GIVING PEOPLE CONTROL OF THEIR BRAIN HEALTH THROUGH RESEARCH, EDUCATION AND OUTREACH. WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS SYSTEM AND A CORE COMMUNITY BASED IN GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, IT IS THE HOME OF THE GEORGETOWN BRAIN STUDY, A LONGITUDINAL RESEARCH PROJECT INTO THE IMPACT OF LIFESTYLE ON BRAIN HEALTH AND NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASE, A FAMILY OF CONDITIONS THAT INCLUDES DEMENTIA, ALZHEIMER'S, PARKINSON'S AND ALS. THE ORGANIZATION IS HEADED BY AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WITH THE GUIDANCE OF A BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND A MEDICAL ADVISORY BOARD

- THE PRIMARY REASON WE ESTABLISHED THE GEORGETOWN NEUROSCIENCES FOUNDATION WAS TO PROVIDE OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE GEORGETOWN BRAIN STUDY (GBS) THE GBS IS CURRENTLY ENROLLING MULTIPLE GENERATIONS IN A LONG TERM STUDY THROUGH A WEB-BASED PORTAL WITH THE CAPACITY TO ENGAGE AND COLLECT DATA ON A LARGE COHORT.
