Program accomplishments

  • GRIT's main program is a therapeutic horsemanship program in which we provide adaptive riding lessons that include groundwork to kids, adolescents, and adults of all ability levels, including those with significant special needs. This is a year round program and we see clients both at GRIT's facility and at our local school district (Tyler ISD) school for special needs. This is a school for students aged 4-22 that cannot be mainstreamed due to the severity of their disabilities. On average, we provide therapeutic horsemanship services for about 40 clients/week and are on a wait list.
