  • LINE 4D - ALL OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS THE PET PATHWAYS PROGRAM: WE HELP TO CONNECT HOMELESS DOGS AND CATS WITH LOVING NEW HOMES THROUGH OUR ADOPTIONS PROGRAM. WE HAVE THREE LOCATIONS IN ALBUQUERQUE WHERE ADOPTION ADVISORS WILL HELP FIND THE PERFECT PET FOR EACH INTERESTED NEW PARENT. ANIMAL HUMANE HAS ADOPTED 100% OF THE HEALTHY PETS IN OUR CARE SINCE JANUARY 2010 AND TOTAL OUTGOING PETS IN 2025 REACHED 2,575; THIS EQUATES TO A 97% LIVE RELEASE RATE FOR THE OPERATING CYCLE. LAUNCHED IN 2009, PROJECT FETCH IS A FLAGSHIP PROGRAM THAT DEMONSTRATES OUR SHELTERS COMMITMENT TO SERVING HOMELESS PETS THROUGHOUT NEW MEXICO. ANIMAL HUMANES 2025 97% LIVE RELEASE RATE (LRR) IS A STARK CONTRAST TO NEW MEXICOS LRR NEAR 77%. YEAR-ROUND WE PARTNER WITH PRIVATE AND MUNICIPAL SHELTERS THROUGHOUT NEW MEXICO, AS WELL AS LARGE AND SMALL RESCUE GROUPS, TO GIVE AT-RISK PETS THE SECOND CHANCE THEY DESERVE. DURING 2025, OUR SHELTER TRANSFERRED IN 1,789 PETS FROM 47 PARTNER AGENCIES ACROSS 22 COUNTIES. COMMUNITY PROGRAMS: AFTER THE CLOSURE OF THE CENTER IN AUGUST 2024, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPED PLANS TO REPURPOSE THE FACILITIES INTO A PET RESOURCE CENTER. IN ALIGNMENT WITH OUR MISSION OF IMPROVING THE LIVES OF ALL PETS IN NEW MEXICO, THE PET RESOURCE CENTER WILL PROVIDE PET OWNERS WITH ACCESS TO ESSENTIAL RESOURCES AND SERVICES THAT EMPOWER THEM TO CARE FOR AND KEEP THEIR PETS. THE BENEFITS TO OUR COMMUNITY ARE TREMENDOUS, AS PETS ARE KEPT OUT OF SHELTERS TO PROTECT LIMITED RESOURCES FOR ANIMALS WHO HAVE NO OTHER OPTION, FAMILIES ARE SUPPORTED IN STAYING TOGETHER AND MAINTAINING THE HUMANEANIMAL BOND, AND THE OVERALL WELLBEING AND HEALTH OF COMMUNITY PET POPULATIONS IS INCREASED. SINCE 2016, OUR SAFETY NET PROGRAM HAS OFFERED VITAL SUPPORT TO PET OWNERS CONSIDERING SURRENDER OF A BELOVED PET DUE TO BEHAVIORAL, MEDICAL, OR HOUSING NEEDS. OFTEN, FAMILIES WANT TO KEEP THEIR PETS BUT CANNOT AFFORD THE NECESSARY CARE. SAFETY NET, WITH HELP FROM OUR GENEROUS COMMUNITY PARTNERS, ENABLES US TO ASSIST BY COVERING CRITICAL COSTS AND CONNECTING PET PARENTS WITH RESOURCES TO KEEP PETS IN THEIR HOMES AND FAMILIES TOGETHER. SAFETY NET SERVED 233 PETS IN 2025. PITSTOP4PETS IS A NEW PROGRAM THAT OFFERS TEMPORARY BOARDING FOR PETS WHEN THEIR FAMILIES ARE IN CRISIS, SUCH AS HOUSING INSECURITY OR FLEEING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, AND HAS ACHIEVED A 95% REUNIFICATION RATE. PAWS ON THE GROUND, PILOTED IN 2024,DIRECTLY SERVES PETS LIVING WITH UNHOUSED INDIVIDUALS. OUR TEAM PARTNERS WITH SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS LIKE ALBUQUERQUE'S WESTSIDE EMERGENCY HOUSING CENTER, AS WELL AS FOOD PANTRIES AND SHELTERS. SERVICES INCLUDE DISTRIBUTING PET FOOD AND SUPPLIES AND PROVIDING PREVENTATIVE VETERINARY CARE INCLUDING VACCINES, MICROCHIPS, AND WELLNESS EXAMS. STREET OUTREACH AROUND OUR MAIN CAMPUS,LOCATED IN AN AREA WITH HIGH CONCENTRATIONS OF UNHOUSED INDIVIDUALS, BRINGS THESE SERVICES DIRECTLY TO ENCAMPMENTS WHERE PETS MIGHT OTHERWISE NEVER SEE A VETERINARIAN. ANIMAL HUMANE ALSO OPERATES PET HEALTH FAIRS AND A COMPANION CARE CLINIC, WHICH ARE LOW TO NO COST VACCINE AND MICROCHIP CLINICS IN AND AROUND THE ALBUQUERQUE AREA AS WELL AS AT OUR PET RESOURCE CENTER. OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE NEEDED SERVICES FOR DOGS AND CATS IN UNDERSERVED NEIGHBORHOODS, WHILE INCREASING OVERALL COMMUNITY HEALTH AND ACCESS TO CARE. DURING 2025, WE HELD 6 PET HEALTH FAIRS IN NEW MEXICO. AT THESE EVENTS WE PROVIDE CORE VACCINATIONS AND MICROCHIPS IN ADDITION TO LEASHES, COLLARS, HARNESSES AND RESOURCES FOR FOLLOW UP VACCINATIONS, SPAY/NEUTER SERVICES AND VETERINARY CARE. IN 2025, WE SERVED A TOTAL OF 623 PETS AND 281 FAMILIES. PET FOOD PANTRY: DURING 2025, ANIMAL HUMANES DEVOTED PET FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEERS DISTRIBUTED OVER 309,000 MEALS TO PETS IN NEED. OUR TWICE WEEKLY DISTRIBUTION DAYS ENSURE PETS ARE FED WHILE PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR TEAM TO DISCUSS OTHER RESOURCES THAT WILL HELP KEEP TREASURED PETS WITH THEIR OWNERS. IN ADDITION, WE ADDED POP-UP DISTRIBUTION SITES AT GATEWAY WEST AND RIO GRANDE FOOD PROJECT. OUR HUMANE EDUCATION PROGRAM INCLUDES PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL CLASSES TO CHILDREN AND ADULTS ALIKE. WE OFFER A BROAD CURRICULUM BOTH IN LOCAL SCHOOLS AND ON OUR CAMPUS. CAMP HUMANE, FOR AGES 513, OFFERS A WIDE VARIETY OF TOPICS AND ACTIVITIES TO TEACH HOW TO CARE FOR PETS AND HOW TO TREAT THEM HUMANELY AND RESPECTFULLY. OUR EXPERT TEAM IS ALSO AVAILABLE TO GIVE EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS TO CLASSROOMS, COMMUNITY GROUPS AND BUSINESSES ON ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY TO EVALUATE PETS AS POTENTIAL CANDIDATES FOR THEIR OUTREACH PROGRAMS.
