Mission
Queer Spectra Arts Festival aims to present a diverse array of voices, backgrounds, experiences, cultures, mediums, and artistic disciplines in order to celebrate queer artistic expressions. The Festival challenges and contributes to contemporary understanding of queer discourse while promoting nuanced conversations between artists and audiences about queer identity and art.
Program accomplishments
- In 2024, Queer Spectra Arts Festival hosted the 6th annual interdisciplinary arts festival which featured 46 artists of all artistic backgrounds. The festival included two keynote addresses, two performances, two artists panels, an artist networking event, and two interdisciplinary workshops. These events fostered community building and nuanced conversations about queer identity, experiences, and artmaking. A 2024 festival attendee shared, "Queer Spectra Art Festival provides artistic opportunity and space for LGBTQ+ community support. As art spaces and shows often gatekeep queer artists and how they showcase their work, the Queer Spectra Art Festival wholeheartedly supports and welcomes a wide range of diverse artists of different skill levels and medium."Expenses $8,326
