Mission

The purpose of the Cooperative is to provide affordable housing for low to moderate income residents. The Cooperative will be democratically controlled by the residents, promote cooperation as a tool for economic justice, and use housing as a vehicle for environmental sustainability and social justice.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • In 2024, the housing cooperative board increased to bi-weekly meetings to discuss all aspects of house governance, with inhabitants of the house greatly influencing the decision-making by utilizing sociocracy as the main form of governance. Discussions mainly focused on the transition towards completion of construction and membershipping new members, as well as the next steps in roles for members in the household.
  • Procedures were created to enhance resilience for vulnerable members of the community in preparation for the co-op taking over financial self-governance and accounting starting in 2025.
  • The co-op maintained affordable rents. In 2024, rents did not increase despite increasing market rate rents in the local rental market.
