Mission

PTSD NOW is dedicated to reducing the incidence of suicide among U.S. military personnel, veterans, and reservists who suffer from PTSD, stress, and depression. The Organization's initial programs serve National Guard members, reservists, and veterans of the Army and Air National Guard in the State of Nevada, with the goal of expanding proven programs to military personnel nationwide.

Program accomplishments

  • In 2021, Chase Rauchle PTSD NOW! made an initial commitment of $200,000 to the Nevada Department of Veterans Services (NDVS) earmarked for Nevada National Guard. The purpose of this funding was to provide therapists to support Active Duty, Full-Time, and Reservist service members, as well as veterans affiliated with the Nevada National Guard (NVNG). This pioneering collaboration represents the first instance of nonprofit funding dedicated resources benefiting National Guard personnel. Our funding supports counseling and therapy services designed to alleviate stress and depression, critical risk factors that can contribute to military and veteran suicides. We have continued to provide funding for these activities through the years, now directly to the Office of the Military. During 2025, PTSD NOW! continued its support with a further contribution of $175,000 to Nevada Office of the Military, bringing the organization's total investment in this initiative to $509,226 and sustaining the counseling and therapy resources available to Nevada's Active Duty, Full-Time, and Reservist service members, including veterans.

  • During 2025, PTSD NOW! awarded a grant of $258,850, of which $129,425 was disbursed in 2025 to the University of San Diego. This grant was intended to provide therapy services for California National Guard service members and their families through the PTSD NOW! National Guard Clinical Support Fund. The fund offers counseling services, including trauma-focused and PTSD-related therapy, delivered by supervised graduate clinicians. Sessions are available in person and via tele-health throughout California. This grant advanced the Organization's exempt purpose by supporting mental health care for members of the U.S. armed forces and their families.

  • During 2025, PTSD NOW! awarded a grant of $144,000 to OnwardOps Foundation. The funds were specifically allocated to develop and implement an Onward Ops program for Nevada Guardsmen transitioning from military life to civilian life. This period is characterized by the highest incidence of suicide among service members. The Nevada program will connect transitioning service members with trained community sponsors, providing guidance across key domains, including employment, education, medical and disability benefits, and family and legal matters, during the critical 12-month period surrounding separation from military service. This grant further advanced the Organization's exempt purpose by supporting programs that assist current and former members of the U.S. armed forces in achieving successful reintegration into civilian life.
