Mission
WiConduits mission is to close the Digital Divide by deploying broadband infrastructure and services into unserved communities. We deploy telecommunication infrastructure including internet cellular and radio networks in disadvantaged communities to support public safety and social needs.
Program accomplishments
- The United States Department of Agriculture awarded WiConduit a grant through the Broadband Technical Assistance Program to support the development of a 501c12 broadband cooperative capable of deploying owning and maintaining its own broadband infrastructure. This funding supported a range of critical activities including staff and program management salaries tied to project implementation as well as contractor support for key functions such as community outreach and engagement network design and engineering grant writing and development business modeling and strategic coordination across regional opportunities. It also covered other essential startup activities needed to establish a sustainable cooperative framework. As a result this grant positioned WiConduit to pursue over 100 million in broadband infrastructure funding and to build a durable operating structure that supports long-term sustainability and continued service to unserved and underserved communities.Expenses $221,299 · revenue $228,500
- The County of Sonoma Supervisorial District 5 awarded WiConduit a grant through the Tourist Impact Fund TIF program to expand emergency communications using General Mobile Radio Service GMRS throughout West Sonoma County. This funding supported the deployment of a GMRS repeater site to expand coverage as well as a series of community radio workshops conducted in partnership with local volunteers and county agencies. Through these workshops WiConduit provided hands-on training and distributed free radios to attendees. Throughout 2025 WiConduit trained residents and distributed nearly 1,000 radios to individuals in unserved and underserved communities lacking access to reliable communication options.Expenses $12,087 · revenue $12,087
- The County of Sonoma awarded WiConduit a grant from the Vegetation Management Program to implement a shaded fuel break. Given that wildfire poses a significant threat to our communities utility companies actively manage vegetation to reduce wildfire risk and protect essential infrastructure during disasters and outages. WiConduit supported these efforts by reducing fire fuels around utility infrastructure making our communities safer. The programs expenses specifically supported the environmental and vegetation treatment planning required pre-construction to ensure compliance with state regulations.Expenses $35,519 · revenue $35,519
