Program accomplishments

  • THE SHOP WITH A HERO EVENT IS ONE OF THE LARGEST PUBLIC ASSISTANCE PROGRAM IN TELLER COUNTY. THE FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN RAISED MORE MONEY THAN ANY PREVIOUS TCHDSA FUNDRAISER, AND WE WERE ABLE TO HELP THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF CHILDREN TO DATE. THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE OPEN HOUSE WAS A GREAT SUCCESS WITH A RECORD NUMBER OF PEOPLE ATTENDING. OUR COAT COLLECTION AND FOOD DRIVE WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND THE TOY DRIVE WERE ALL BIG EVENTS DUE TO THE INCREASED NEED IN THE COMMUNITY. THE YEAR'S FUNDRAISERS OF A CLAY SHOOTING EVENT, TURKEY SHOOT COMPETITION, AND GOLF TOURNAMENT BROUGHT IN A RECORD AMOUNT OF FUNDS. THE SECOND ANNUAL DONOR DINNER FUNDRAISER WAS A SUCCESS. WE AUCTIONED OFF A DONATED MOPED AND OTHER AUCTION ITEMS. WE SOLD TICKETS TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND GAVE TCHDSA DONORS AND SPONSERS FREE TICKETS TO ATTEND. AGAIN, ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS WAS LAW ENFORCEMENT WEEK BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN A TOUGH COUPLE OF YEARS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT. THE HUGE SHOWING OF INDIVIDUALS FOR THE EVENT AND THE SUPPORT OF ALL THOSE WHO ATTENDED FROM TELLER COUNTY MADE ALL THE DEPUTIES VERY APPRECIATIVE AS WELL AS THE MEMBERS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT WHO ATTENDED FROM THE SURROUNDING AREA. IT WAS A GREAT EVENT THIS YEAR. WE WERE ABLE TO RAISE THE MONEY TO PURCHASE DRONES AND TRAINING EQUIPMENT FOR THE LAW ENFORCEMENT DRONE TEAM. THE TCHDSA ALSO PURCHASES ALL THE UNIFORMS FOR THE NEW POSSE AND RESERVE MEMBERS WHO ASSIST IN MANY OF THE EVENTS IN TELLER COUNTY.
