Mission

The Horizon High School Band Parents Association was formed and is maintained in order to encourage, assist, promote, and support the Horizon High School Band Programs. It does this by providing financial support through fundraising activities. Members of the association also volunteer in the various band activities the students and directors choose to participate in. The band consists of approximately 135 students.

Program accomplishments

  • The visual aspect of the marching band show was created and organized. Costumes for colorguard members, uniform accessories for marching band members, as well as props to enhance the visual effects of the marching band show were purchased to coordinate with the marching show for the 2024-2025 school year. An independent contractor was paid to design the drill for each band member marching on the field to provide a visual performance that coordinates with the music being played. This benefited all 135 members of the band.
    Expenses $22,529
  • Musical training provided for individual band sections by independent contractors. There are more than 135 students among the various band classes at Horizon High School. There are 2 full-time teachers that provide musical instruction but it is beneficial to have instruction in a smaller group setting. Students are divided into groups according to instrument played in order to maximize instruction.
    Expenses $39,799
  • Transportation for all marching band members as well as instruments, props, and accessories was paid for by the Horizon High School Band Parents Association. This included $4386.03 for the semi trailer and $12,000 for buses. This benefited all 135 members of the band.
    Expenses $16,386
