Mission
To educate the public regarding the role of faith experiences both in and outside formal religion as it impacts the lives of people around the world and that we are all on the human journey together. The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under IRC 501(c)(3) or its successor provision.
Program accomplishments
- Archiving: Our project consists of over 500 portraits and approximately 375 video interviews from over 25 years. So this past year we focused on a digital audit to ensure all of our materials are findable, properly backed up according to archiving standards. This has been an extensive year long effort that we prioritized over publishing of stories to ensure everything is intact. This helped us identify missing files and ensure that everything was in the cloud backed up by a private network.Expenses $39,084
- Press conference: Portraits in Faith was invited to have a press conference at the Vatican in Rome, Italy on October 21st. The press conference was hosted by His Eminence Cardinal George Koovakad, Prefect for the Dicastery for Inter Religious Dialogue and Prefect of Communications Dicastery, Dr. Paolo Ruffini. The efforts required to pull off this press conference include new videos, a presentation, signage, flights to get to Rome/lodging, shipment of PIF books, etc. It raised the global profile of PIF.Expenses $30,710
- Work searching for Exhibit locations: PIF has been conducting efforts to find new locations for our museum exhibition. These efforts include visits to The House of One in Berlin, workshops at the University of Michigan, and applying to various conferences and colloquiums.Expenses $7,413
- 1) making new interviews and portraits, 2) distributing our book especially to key influencers and vulnerable populations, and 3) conducting "Sacred Listening Workshops."Expenses $42,601 · revenue $1,881
