Mission

To inspire young underrepresented and marginalized students to see themselves represented in the field of science and technology

990 for the year ended June 30, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • The Tapping Roots Program revenue reflects a fee-for-service partnership with ELSO where Project LEDO delivered robotics education programming for youth. In addition to robotics instruction, the partnership was designed to provide high school students with mentorship exposure and career-connected learning opportunities through Project LEDOs summer camps. Project LEDO also facilitated multiple community-based events, including robotics engagement activities and financial literacy symposiums, aimed at strengthening leadership development, workforce readiness, and long-term academic and career pathways for students.
    Expenses $247,279
  • Project LEDO has always believed in the power of partnerships and collaboration. We understand that by joining forces with other local organizations that share our core values, we can make an even bigger impact on the communities we serve. Through these strategic alliances, Project LEDO has formed a strong and united front to address the pressing issues faced by BIPOC communities. Our programs have expanded to include a collaboration with We Belong PDX, which has allowed us to touch even more students. Additionally, our partnership with POIC has further strengthened our outreach. A significant accomplishment in our program is that we have students going to the Academy of Science. These students are comprised primarily of immigrant students and people of color. We have also provided computers to help bridge the gap in the digital divide. Our program has partners with Wells Fargo, Chase Bank, PG&E and others in efforts to support our mission. These partnerships have not only increased our resources but also extended our reach into new areas. By collaborating with like-minded organizations, Project LEDO has been able to expand its programs and initiatives to two additional school districts. This means more students from diverse backgrounds now have access to the field of science and technology.
