Mission
Rescue MI Nature Now, Inc. is a Michigan Nonprofit Organization committed to cultivating green zones within the communities and empowering neighborhoods through nature-centric educational programs. Through hands-on initiatives, we empower communities to become active stewards of the environment by educating & bringing them together an extensive array of projects & programs.
Program accomplishments
- The Detroit Therapy Forest, is a community-driven urban reforestation project in Detroit's Nolan neighborhood that transforms vacant land into a restorative green space inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing). Spanning over two acres, the site serves as both a wellness retreat and an ecological restoration zone-providing residents with a peaceful environment to reduce stress, connect with nature, and foster community healing. Beyond its therapeutic purpose, the project also improves neighborhood aesthetics, supports pollinators and native habitat, and engages local youth through stewardship and workforce development opportunities that reinforce environmental awareness and collective care for Detroit's urban landscape.Expenses $75,321 · grants $75,321
