Mission
Image Threads Inc. supports artists in pursuing careers in photography, with an emphasis on publishing their photobooks or publishing their work in books and other forms of media.
Program accomplishments
- Publishing Program (Steidl Partnership). During 2025 the Organization established a publishing partnership with Steidl Verlag, an internationally recognized photobook publisher in Goettingen, Germany, under the Organization's registered New York State imprint, The Agency. The Organization committed to publish three photobooks (one each by Jenia Fridlyand, John Gossage, and Raymond Meeks) under co-funding terms with Steidl, with the Organization receiving 350 copies of each title for distribution and sale upon publication. During 2025 the artists and Organization representatives traveled to Goettingen for working sessions on the books, and the Organization paid $88,220 to Steidl Verlag toward production. The books are scheduled for delivery in 2026.Expenses $4,527
- Photobook Library and Darkroom Access. The Organization continued to maintain its library of photobooks and darkroom facility at 138 Green Acre Rd, Elizaville, NY, available for use by photographers in furtherance of their work.
