Program accomplishments

  • IN 2024, CARVE YOUR OWN PATH, INC. EXPERIENCED A YEAR OF SIGNIFICANT TRANSFORMATION CHARACTERIZED BY THE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF ITS FIRST GRANT-FUNDED INITIATIVES. THESE AWARDS ALLOWED THE ORGANIZATION TO PROVIDE ESSENTIAL TRAUMA-INFORMED COUNSELING TO UNDERSERVED AND MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS IN THE GREATER SUMMIT COUNTY AREA. A PRIMARY FOCUS WAS PLACED ON REMOVING FINANCIAL BARRIERS TO CARE, WHICH RESULTED IN SUPPORTING 22 CLIENTS THROUGH OUR SLIDING FEE SCALE AND PROVIDING OVER 71 COUNSELING SESSIONS TO 11 UNINSURED OR UNDERINSURED INDIVIDUALS THROUGH A HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES GRANT. FURTHERMORE, OUR COMMITMENT TO THE LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY WAS STRENGTHENED THROUGH A GRANT FROM THE GAY COMMUNITY ENDOWMENT FUND, WHICH SUPPORTED CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE CARE FOR 3 INDIVIDUALS AND ENABLED OUTREACH TO AN ESTIMATED 150-200 PEOPLE DURING THE AKRON PRIDE FESTIVAL. OVERALL, THE CLINICAL TEAM CONDUCTED 595 APPOINTMENTS, SERVING A TOTAL OF 48 INDIVIDUAL CLIENTS THROUGHOUT THE FISCAL YEAR. BEYOND DIRECT CLINICAL CARE, THE ORGANIZATION MADE SUBSTANTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH WORKFORCE. WE PROVIDED 235 HOURS OF TRAINING SUPERVISION TO SOCIAL WORKERS SEEKING INDEPENDENT LICENSURE AND HOSTED TWO SOCIAL WORK INTERNS WHO CONTRIBUTED OVER 500 HOURS OF FIELD EXPERIENCE TO OUR PROGRAMMING. OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT WAS FURTHER AMPLIFIED BY 255 VOLUNTEER HOURS DEDICATED TO OUTREACH AND ADVOCACY, AS WELL AS SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING EFFORTS LIKE THE "CARVING THE FUTURE" EVENT, WHICH RAISED OVER 5,600 TO SUSTAIN OUR HOLISTIC MISSION. THROUGH THESE DIVERSE EFFORTS, CYOP REMAINED A STEADFAST ADVOCATE FOR CLIENT RIGHTS AND A LEADER IN PROVIDING INCLUSIVE, "OUTSIDE- THE-BOX" WELLNESS SOLUTIONS.
