Mission

Faith Through Fire holds space for men and women to heal emotionally from the trauma of breast cancer. Their mission is to reduce the fear and anxiety breast cancer patients feel and replace it with hope and a path toward thriving. They serve as the conduit to ensuring patients receive the emotional support and networks of care needed to take survivors beyond routine physical interventions to a place of comprehensive healing.

Program accomplishments

  • Peer Mentorship Program In 2025, Faith Through Fire matched 103 breast cancer patients with survivor mentors who had walked the same road - offering not just encouragement, but lived understanding that clinical care alone cannot provide. Each mentorship averaged approximately one year in duration, spanning the full arc of treatment and the critical transition into survivorship. To protect the quality of every relationship, no mentor supported more than three mentees at a time - ensuring patients received consistent, personal attention when they needed it most. Mentors provided ongoing emotional support, real-time guidance, and help navigating the often-overwhelming landscape of resources available to patients. The result: fewer patients feeling alone, less fear, and greater engagement in life during one of its most difficult seasons. The impact speaks for itself - 95% of Faith Through Fire patients would recommend the program to someone newly diagnosed.
    Expenses $123,531
  • Community Education Breast cancer doesn't pause between appointments - and neither does Faith Through Fire's commitment to keeping patients informed, empowered, and supported. Through the Besties with Breasties podcast and targeted resource distribution, Faith Through Fire delivers accessible education that meets patients wherever they are. In 2025, the organization produced 24 episodes covering topics that matter most to patients and survivors - from lymphedema prevention and mental health to navigating the emotional terrain of survivorship. The podcast is gaining real traction: episodes average approximately 145 downloads, placing Besties with Breasties above the national median and within the top 25-40% of independent podcasts. For a nonprofit health podcast, this is a meaningful benchmark - one that reflects a growing audience of patients, caregivers, and advocates who are actively seeking this kind of support. Beyond the podcast, Faith Through Fire distributed key resources to program participants in 2025, including the Caregiver Support Guide and the Fearless Guide - practical tools designed to help patients advocate confidently for their own care and well-being. Together, these efforts extend Faith Through Fire's reach far beyond its direct service programs, ensuring that no patient has to face a diagnosis without knowledge, community, or hope.
    Expenses $28,772
  • Survivorship Bootcamp Finishing treatment is not the finish line. For many breast cancer survivors, the end of active care brings a disorienting silence - no more appointments, no more clear next steps, and no roadmap for what comes next. The Survivorship Bootcamp exists to fill that gap. This structured, six-session program guides survivors through the work that clinical care rarely addresses: processing trauma, rebuilding identity, and charting a genuine path toward thriving. In 2025, Faith Through Fire hosted four bootcamps - offered both virtually and in-person - serving 24 survivors across each cohort. The curriculum moves participants through emotional healing, identity reconstruction, and forward-focused goal setting, all while building the peer connections that sustain long-term recovery. Survivors leave not just with tools, but with a community. The outcomes are measurable and significant. Participants reported increased confidence, reduced anxiety, and a clearer sense of direction following treatment - with an average anxiety reduction of 55% as measured by the GAD-7, a clinically validated assessment tool. For survivors who felt lost at the moment they were supposed to feel relieved, the Bootcamp offers something rare: a structured, supported, and hopeful way forward.
    Expenses $35,398
  • House of Hope A cancer diagnosis doesn't just affect the patient - it disrupts an entire family. Appointments, treatments, and the weight of uncertainty consume daily life, leaving little room for rest, connection, or the kind of quiet that healing requires. The House of Hope at Innsbrook Resort was created to give that space back. Located at the Innsbrook Resort in Missouri, the House of Hope offers a fully cost-free retreat experience for breast cancer patients and their families - a place to step away from the clinical world and simply breathe. Priority is given to those facing terminal diagnoses, veterans, and active participants in Faith Through Fire's peer mentorship program, ensuring the retreat reaches those carrying the heaviest loads. In 2025, Faith Through Fire provided 59 stays for patients and families at various stages of treatment and survivorship. Each stay offered more than rest - it offered restoration. Guests found space for reflection, reconnection with loved ones, and emotional healing that the routine of treatment rarely allows. The results are felt long after checkout. Participants consistently report leaving the House of Hope feeling renewed, more supported, and better equipped to face what lies ahead - not just physically, but relationally and emotionally. In a landscape where cancer care is largely measured in clinical outcomes, the House of Hope measures something equally important: the dignity, peace, and human connection that every patient deserves.
    Expenses $39,640
