Mission
City Mission Schools offers education from kindergarten to grade 9 emphasizing community engagement via service projects and partnerships with other organizations.
Program accomplishments
- Our nonprofit organization operates a full-time K9 school that served 35 students over the past year providing individualized academic programs tailored to each childs needs. We achieve this through maintaining small class sizes with a maximum of six students per teacher. This low student-to-teacher ratio allows each child to accelerate in areas of strength while receiving additional support and individualized pacing in areas where more assistance is needed.Expenses $9,800 · grants $9,800
- City Mission Schools places a strong emphasis on community engagement with our students completing more than 250 hours of community service over the past year. Through our partnership with The City Mission students helped prepare 110 grocery bags of pantry items each month for distribution to individuals and families in need. In addition they participated weekly in sorting and quality-controlling perishable food items for The City Missions Free Food Program supporting the organizations efforts to provide safe nutritious food to the community.Expenses $5,500 · grants $5,500
- This past year City Mission Schools launched a Community Garden Initiative designed to teach students about the importance of food access sustainability and healthy eating. Through hands-on learning students gained experience in planting cultivating and harvesting a variety of fresh vegetables. The garden has also become a shared resource for families providing opportunities for them to participate in maintaining the space and benefiting from the produce grown. This initiative not only strengthens students understanding of agriculture and environmental stewardship but also reinforces our commitment to promoting wellness and supporting food access within our school community.Expenses $500 · grants $500
