Mission

Colorado Brass is a premier brass and percussion ensemble. The band performs an annual subscription concert series in addition to national competitions and festivals, including the Rocky Mountain Brassworks Festival, the U.S. Masters Brass Band Championships, and the North American Brass Band Association Championships. The band also provides educational and performance opportunities for youth musicians through master classes and joint concerts.

990-EZ for the year ended June 30, 2026

Program accomplishments

  • Subscription Concert Series. A series of six concerts were given to the general public over the last 12 months. Over 1,000 people attended the concerts over the course of the year. The programs are chosen both to entertain and to educate the audience on the long tradition of British-style brass band playing.
    Expenses $9,639
  • The band participated in the North American Brass Band Championships in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in April. We received awards for full band, two small ensembles and solo participants.
    Expenses $1,569
  • Youth Program. The Colorado Brass Youth Band performed their own concert in May, prior to the full band concert. Students rehearsed for 2 hours each Sunday. Over 20 students (mostly high school age, with some middle school and college age) participated in weekly rehearsals and the concert. We hope to extend the youth program concert in the coming year.
    Expenses $100
