Mission
THE MISSION OF THE FLORENCE WINE AND FOOD FESTIVAL IS TO CELEBRATE AND PROMOTE CULTURE AND COMMUNITY THROUGH THE EXPERIENCE OF FOOD, BEVERAGE, AND HOSPITALITY, WITH A COMMITMENT TO REDUCING JUVENILE HUNGER AND FOOD INSECURITY IN THE PEE DEE REGION.
Program accomplishments
- THE FLORENCE WINE AND FOOD FESTIVAL CELEBRATES AND PROMOTES CULTURE AND COMMUNITY THROUGH THE EXPERIENCE OF FOOD, BEVERAGE, AND HOSPITALITY BY CONTRIBUTING THE "NET INCOME" OF THEIR EVENT TO "HELP 4 KIDS" WHICH PROVIDES BAGS OF WEEKEND FOOD FOR THE 34 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS (INCLUDING SEVEN HEAD START PROGRAMS) IN ALL THE FLORENCE COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS WHO DEPEND ON SCHOOL MEALS AS THEIR PRIMARY SOURCE OF NOURISHMENT. CHILDREN THAT QUALIFY FOR THE PROGRAM ARE AT RISK OF HAVING LITTLE TO NO FOOD AVAILABLE DURING THE WEEKEND. THE BAGS OF FOOD CONSIST OF SINGLE SELF SERVINGS OF NUTRITIONAL FOODS.Expenses $18,086
