Program accomplishments

  • TO OFFER WRITING AND PUBLISHING OPPORTUNITIES AT BEDSIDE-AND IN WORKSHOP SETTINGS-THROUGHOUT BOSTON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. WE HOPE TO FIND UNIQUE WAYS TO SHOWCASE THE BOOKS THAT CHILDREN AND CAREGIVERS HAVE ALREADY CREATED-AND TO PROVIDE NOVEL WAYS FOR YOUNG AUTHORS TO SHARE THEIR WORK WITH THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE. WE BELIEVE THAT THE ACT OF STORYTELLING IS A POWERFUL TOOL FOR PROCESSING AND CREATIVE SELF-EXPRESSION, PARTICULARLY FOR THOSE COPING WITH ACUTE OR CHRONIC ILLNESS. ONGOING WRITING AND PUBLISHING OPPORTUNITIES CAN HELP HELP CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD, TO EDUCATE OTHERS ABOUT A DIAGNOSIS, AND TO MAKE SENSE OF CHALLENGING CIRCUMSTANCES.
    Expenses $1,765
