Mission
To use the wonderful game of bridge to help seniors and youth by providing opportunities to learn, play and enjoy its many social and mental benefits
Program accomplishments
- We offer COMPETITIONS that are tailored to the level of the player. We offer three levels of competition most days, two for those less experienced in the game of bridge and one for those more advanced. Over 11,000 people were served by these competitions with many individuals competing multiple times a week. We try hard to provide partners for those without and provide prepared hands, hand records, and results to assist the players in becoming better and stronger players. All ages, from 8 to over 103, have participated in our games.Expenses $56,756 · revenue $167,894
- We offer CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS to help people learn how to play bridge and how to become better at playing. We offer classes for beginners, advanced beginners, and intermediate level players with sights on attaining expert status. Our various offerings cover Basic Bidding, Declarer Play, Defense, and Conventions used by advanced players. Our workshops help polish the basics and review the fundamentals. Some of our expert players also offer free presentations on various hands and the strategies experts may employ on them. We provided lessons to over 200 people in 2023 at our location.Expenses $2,081 · revenue $9,346
- We offer FUN BRIDGE sessions that are much more relaxed than the competitions. Here players can ask questions, take more time to play a hand, socialize, and still learn, have fun, and make friends. It is a great way to introduce new players the game. We have served over 200 people with this service.Expenses $2,035 · revenue $3,910
- We provide free snacks and low cost REFRESHMENTS to all our players and class or workshop participants at every event. Their main purpose is to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable.
