Mission
THE LEAGUE OF YOUNG INVENTORS DEVELOPS STANDARDS-ALIGNED, HANDS-ON STEM CURRICULUM FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES K-8 AND PARTNERS WITH SCHOOLS AND DISTRICTS TO IMPLEMENT IT. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES CURRICULUM UNITS ALIGNED TO NGSS AND GRADE-LEVEL STANDARDS, ACCOMPANYING MATERIAL KITS AND TEACHING RESOURCES, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT THAT PREPARES CLASSROOM TEACHERS TO CONFIDENTLY DELIVER THE ENGINEERING DESIGN PROCESS.
Program accomplishments
- CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT AND SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS: THE ORGANIZATION DEVELOPED, LICENSED, AND DELIVERED HANDS-ON STEM CURRICULUM UNITS TO PARTNER SCHOOLS AND DISTRICTS. EACH UNIT INCLUDES LESSON PLANS, SLIDES, HANDOUTS, AND REQUIRED MATERIALS, ALIGNED TO GRADE-LEVEL STANDARDS, ENABLING CLASSROOM TEACHERS TO INTEGRATE THE ENGINEERING DESIGN PROCESS INTO EXISTING INSTRUCTION. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDED IMMERSIVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS THAT TRAIN TEACHERS IN THE FULL LEARNING SEQUENCE OF EACH UNIT.Expenses $505,495 · revenue $422,641
