PHOENIX LEGAL ACTION NETWORK (PLAN) WORKS IN SOLIDARITY WITH OUR LOCAL IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY TO REIMAGINE JUSTICE IN ARIZONA. WE REIMAGINE IMMIGRANT JUSTICE THROUGH OUR FREE LEGAL SERVICES AND STORYTELLING WORK.
Program accomplishments
- IMMIGRATION LEGAL SERVICES:IN 2025, WITH JUST TWO STAFF MEMBERS, WE PROVIDED FREE LEGAL REPRESENTATION TO 65 LOW INCOME IMMIGRANTS IN OUR COMMUNITY. IN OUR RAPID RESPONSE EFFORTS, WE HELD 15 COMMUNITY DEFENSE LEGAL CLINICS, PROVIDED 78 CONSULTATIONS, TOOK ON 14 URGENT CASES. WE RECRUITED, TRAINED, AND MANAGED 20 LEGAL VOLUNTEERS TO EXPAND OUR EFFORTS. WE PROVIDED 8 KNOW YOUR RIGHTS PRESENTATIONS REACHING OVER 200 ATTENDEES IN TOTAL.Expenses $194,704
- CHANGING THE NARRATIVE ON IMMIGRATION:PLAN CREATES OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMMIGRANTS TO TELL THEIR STORIES EVERY YEAR, LOCAL IMMIGRANTS (INCLUDING CLIENTS FROM PLAN) WORK WITH STORYTELLING COACHES TO CRAFT THEIR STORY.
