Mission
To smash the stigma surrounding mental illness and to build a community of people who realize that hope happens when youth and community leaders work together. We hope that someday mental illness will be as normal to talk about as any physical illness, and are fiercely dedicated to making this goal a reality.
Program accomplishments
- In 2025, our message of hope, community, and stigma reduction continued to reach more young people and adult allies, as reflected in the steady growth of our Youth Ambassador program and the increasing number of communities joining our youth-led movement. With the ongoing youth mental health crisis and rising suicide rates, we remain deeply committed to creating meaningful change in this space. Today, we have over 723 Youth Ambassadors actively bringing YTP programming and Hope Gardens to their schools, with new ambassadors set to join in 2026. In 2025, YTP received 250+ individual donations from those who care about youth mental health. We were awarded grants from 11 local foundations and also received generous gifts from 4 family foundations and 2 community-based events.Hope Gardens continued to expand, with new bulbs planted in communities across the country, reinforcing our mission to spark conversations about mental health at an early age. This year marked a particularly meaningful milestone with the launch of the Hope Archive - a powerful new initiative that preserves and amplifies real stories of resilience, creativity, and healing, ensuring that hope is not only shared in the moment, but uplifted for generations to come. Our commitment to arts and storytelling as powerful tools for mental health advocacy deepened this year. We concluded 2025 with over 1,175 individuals completing our Storytelling Alchemy course, and we further refined our focus on arts and media to better meet the needs of the youth we serve.Beyond programming, YTP was honored to participate in several global conferences, including the Year-long UArctic 'COIL' project, 'Changemaker Chats Across the Globe' series, 3 new international community collaborators, Global Mental Health Peer Network (South Africa) and the University of Edinburgh (Scotland). Our work was recognized with two distinguished awards: the ICON of Inspiration Award and the Caring About Lives in Maine (CAL-ME) Award. We were selected as a presenting organization at the KyleCares Conference at Gillette Stadium and also participated in Teens Take the Met!As we look ahead, we remain unwavering in our mission to empower youth, cultivate hope, and change the conversation around mental health-one community, one story, and one action at a time.Expenses $313,364 · revenue $12,987
