Mission

The Mission of Cleft of the Rock Foundation is to help abused and abandoned children and struggling families improve their circumstances through education, life coaching, proper shelter, nourishment, and work. Our Vision outlines our dedicated endeavors to mold a society where each child encounters security, value, and empowerment, thereby contributing to a future that is brighter and more compassionate for everyone. Through the Partners in Parent Education Program, you can partner with us to raise awareness of the need for parent education, offer more parent education opportunities to more families, and build communities where families are strong and children are safe through the love and support of deliberate parenting.

Program accomplishments

  • Our first initiative is what we now call ''Conversations on Parenting" (COP), where we provide an atmosphere for round table discussions of pertinent issues among adults. These small group meetings are hosted in homes and are usually in the form of a potluck style and virtually via zoom. We have hosted and served over 80 people in the first six months. One of the areas discussed is parenting in today's society. Any person who has parented, is parenting, or plans to parent is welcome. This is a forum where honesty and learning prevail, and a safe community is created. Individual coaching sessions are also available, as well as referrals to outside resources for further help.
    Expenses $168
  • Our second initiative, Parenting on Purpose" (POP), a tried and tested nine week video series, by Dr. Bob Barnes, teaches and strengthens parenting skills. Each video is about 45 minutes long, there is a workbook to follow along with, and thought-provoking questions at the end that lead to a hearty discussion and a call to action. We meet in homes, libraries, and virtually. We introduced this program to 10 people within the first month. Two to Three classes are offered concurrently in groups of 6 to 8 participants at a time. The goal is to offer 10 to 12 classes per year servicing 80 to 100 participants a year. In addition, an in person annual POP Retreat is held which offers the 9-week Video Series condensed into a 3-day weekend. All videos will be shown, workbook questions completed, and discussion about each video will take place. The goal is to offer one per year servicing 30 to 40 participants a year.
    Expenses $787
  • Our third initiative is our three largest fundraising events that we do every year: our Tea Party, Friendsgiving Gala, and Golf Tournament. Through these events, we are able to reach wider communities and spread our message and goals to more people who show interest in joining our cause. These events bring in our largest amount of donor contributions, as well as provide an opportunity for our team and community to come together and celebrate our organization's purpose. Year after year, the events create a space for parents and their children to come together and spend intentional time bonding and building their relationships with each other as well as their community, further accomplishing our mission as an organization. Every year, we also see growth in our organization's membership and outreach as a direct result of each event. Our fundraising initiatives help further our organization's mission by not only increasing our funding for our programs, but also by actively engaging our community in furthering their parenting education and involvement.
    Expenses $17,214
