Mission

The purpose of the Alliance of Black Women Accountants is to provide support, mentoring, scholarships and encouragement to women of color in the Accounting and Finance professions.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • In 2023 we provided scholarships to four undergraduate and three graduate students studying accounting and finance. These scholarship awards totaled $14,500. Additionally, we provided a scholarship for a member to attend a major conference in Northern California (CalCPA Elevate Women's Conference).
  • We increased our membership in 2023 from 66 to 108 members. This increase in membership provides more exposure to the areas of accounting and finance and allows the organization to support more individuals.
  • Our mentorship program provided mentors to 30 individuals (mentees) and had a total of 17 mentors. This program continues to evolve and has also made connections with various organizations that will allow us to provide resources and opportunities to mentees whereby they are able to obtain internships and jobs. We have made connections with CalCPA, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ernst and Young, University of Southern California, and regional CPA firms.
