Program accomplishments

  • The Ormond Beach Arts District leased a second set of 12 sculptures from the Seward Johnson Foundation to create a temporary sculpture exhibit in the central downtown district. The sculptures are all at publicly available sites, including public parks and shopping areas. Thousands of locals and visitors saw the original set of sculptures (11/24 through 4/25). More than 5000 printed maps of the exhibit were distributed, and over 9000 used the online version of the map. Similar foot traffic and engagement is expected during the 2026 exhibition, which runs from January 15, 2026, through June 15, 2026. Most expenses for this exhibit will fall in FY 25-26
    Expenses $3,643
  • Eleven signal boxes were wrapped with art solicited from local artists in 2024. All expenses were covered by the City of Ormond Beach. However, due to road construction, all the art was removed. The Ormond Beach Arts District is supervising the manufacture and re- installation of the pieces. This art will be in place through October of 2027.
  • The Ormond Beach Arts District seeks out appropriate artists and maintains a mural artists registry for use by local building owners in downtown district who wish to add murals to their buildings. Permitting for these murals is done through the City of Ormond Beach. Maintenance of the registry is done by volunteers.
