Mission
SOVA SEEKS TO PROMOTE INCREASED PARTICIPATION IN AQUATIC SPORTS IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY IN GENERAL AND SPECIFIC EFFORT DIRECTED AT YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN FROM ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED CIRCUMSTANCES. SOVA IS PARTICULARY INTERESTED IN CREATING LIFE ALTERING, POSITIVE OPPORTUNITES FOR YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN WHO MAY OTHERWISE EXPERIENCE GENERATIONAL IMPEDIMENTS TO HIGHER EDUCATION AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES.
Program accomplishments
- SOUTH VALLEY WATER POLO CLUB HAS QUITE A BIT OF SUCCESS IN THEIR VERY YOUNG EXISTANCE. WE SERVE JUST SHY TO TWO HUNDRED ATHLETES IN THE TULARE/KINGS COUNTY AREA OF CA. THE AGE GROUPS RANGE FROM 10U THROUGH 18U BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS. THE GOAL OF EVERY YEAR IS TO LEARN, HAVE FUN, AND QUALIFY FOR THE JUNIOR OLYMPICS TOURNAMENT THAT TAKES PLACE EVERY YEAR JULY. THIS TOURNAMENT IS THE MEASURING STICK OF EVERY CLUB THAT PLAYS. SOUTH VALLEY WATER POLO CLUB HAS HAD SUCCESS THAT WAS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS EARLY STAGE. ALL AGE GROUPS IMPROVED THEIR INITIAL RANKING ENTERING THE TOURNAMENT. THE HIGHLIGHT BEING THE 18U BOYS WHO PLACED 4TH IN THE GOLD DIVISION. THIS TRANSLATES TO 28TH OVERALL. THE OVERALL RANKING IS EQUIVALENT TO 28TH IN THE NATION.Expenses $184,314
